Parties join hands against the Maoist and the government

28th May :

Kathmandu, Nepal—

It seems that political polarization between the political parties in Nepal is taken a new height as almost all the political parties have stand against the Maoist, the head of the incumbent government and the largest party of the recently dissolved CA.

Major political parties including Nepali Congress, CPN UML, Rastriya Janasakti Party, Madhesi Janadhikar forum- Nepal and its spilinter faction led by Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar Madhesi Janadhikar Forum – Loktantrik have strongly objected the government proposal to hold next CA election. These five parties have issued a joint press release to protest the government decision.

It seems that the Madhesi Morcha, which was a loose alliance of the Madhes Based parties under the leadership of Dr. Baburam Bhattrai would not support the government.

The government has no constitutional ground as the CA doubled legislative parliament is dissolved, Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Paudel and CPN UML chairman Jhala Nath khanal said univocally after competing the meeting with president. Upendra Yadav, president of the Forum Nepal also echoed the Paudel and the Khanal.

It is not possible to move ahead without national consensus between the political parties as constitutional vacuum is created in the country, Paude added.
