US ambassador DeLisi called on Prime Minister Bhattrai

US Ambassador to Nepal Scott H. DeLisi called on Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai at his office Singh Durbar on Monday and inquired about the recent political situation of the country.


During the meeting US Ambassador Scott H. DeLisi expressed his grave concern over the dissolution of the historic Constituent Assembly (CA) without promulgating a new constitution.


It is reported that he also suggested the Prime Minister to go ahead with the political consensus. Responding to the concern of the Ambassador Scott H. DeLisi Prime Bhattrai said that the wrangling over federalism led to the dissolution of Constituent Assembly (CA).


During the hour long meeting Prime Minister attempt to convince US Ambassador Scott H. DeLisi stating that the declaration of fresh election for the CA was his compulsion claiming that this was the most democratic alternative.
