BP Koirala will be declared nat'l luminary: Minister Bogati

SUNDARIJAL, July 21: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Posta Bahadur Bogati, has said the Ministry has initiated process to declare late BP Koirala a national luminary.


At a program organized by BP Museum Committee Sundarijal on the occasion of the BP Memorial Day on Saturday, Minister Bogati said the Ministry was positive about promoting the museum to the national level. Late BP was not only a literary figure but also a campaigner of social movement, he added.


Reminding the reconciliation policy of the late BP Koirala, Minister Bogati said, "National progress was impossible without political consensus which is the spirit of the late BP´s reconciliation policy."


Ministry Secretary Dr Ganesh Joshi said government was positive about declaring BP a national luminary in recognition to his contribution to nation.


Ram Lal Shrestha of the Nepali Congress, Janardan Khadka of CPN-UML and astrologer Bashu Dev Shastri spoke on the contribution of the late BP Koirala on Nepali politics and literature.


The program was presided over by Vice-Chairman of the Museum Committee, Hemant Kishor Pandit.
