Madhesi to vote Nepali congress

Kathmandu, Nepal -- Nepali congress will get support from the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) for the prime ministerial election to be held on August 2.


Madheshi leaders have signaled that they would vote the candidate of the Nepali congress to the post of Prime Minister as Nepali congress has also assured them to discuss on the issue raised by UDMF.


A meeting of the NC office bearers and Central Committee (CC) members held at the residence of party Acting President Sushil Koirala in Maharajgunj on Monday afternoon has also decided to address the demands of the UDMF. UDMF is the alliance of four Madhesi parties.


However, Nepali congress has not assured the UDMF that to implemented the 'One Madhes, One Province' demand. Instead of the demand Nepali congress is ready to implement other demands raised by the Madhesi parties.


Following the green signal from the Madhesi party, Nepali congress has also decided to intensify consultations with other political parties including the fringe parties to garner support for the prime ministerial election.


It is claimed that Nepali congress candidate Ram Chandra Paudel will won the election for the post of Prime Minister as other parties including the CPN UML’s Oli faction has already assured to vote in favor of the Nepali congress.
