Kathmandu, Nepal, October 26, 2021: Eleven Afghan nationals have been arrested from Sinamangal area of Kathmandu on Monday. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrested them while they were staying illegally in the area since one month.

They were arrested on the charge of staying illegally in the country. It is said that they had entered in Nepal via India taking advantage of open border between the two countries.

Following the arrest, they were kept in Sinamangal police station for an investigation. The CIB has now handed over to the immigration department for necessary action.

It is likely that the immigration department would handover them to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees office in Kathmandu. It is said that five Afghans nationals have already approached the office demanding their protection.
