Kathmandu: About 75 thousand people have jointly chanted Gautam Buddha’s preaching to set a Guinness world record, at Tundikhel of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, on Saturday.
Even though the exact number of the participants is not established independently, not only the organizer but also the participants have a claim that more than 75,000 people would have attended in the record breaking function.
World Record Holder Council Nepal had organized the program to leave the message that lord Gautam Buddha was born in Nepal.
It is said that the program has smashed the record of India. India’s Art of Living Foundation had set the world record by reciting a poem by 46, 660 people simultaneously.
During the function various political leaders including Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, Maoist Center Chair Puspa Kamal Dahal, Defence Minister, Ishwor Pokharel, Artists Rajesh Hamal, Nikhil Upreti, Sanchita Liutel and many others were presented in the program.
