Kathmandu, Nepal, June 20, 2022: Nepal has entered in the semifinals of the ACC Women’s T20 Championship by defeating Bahrain by 8 wickets in their third match of the group stage played on Monday. With this victory, Nepal is at the top of Group B with 6 points from 3 games.
In the match played at the Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Nepali team completed the normal target of 15 runs set by Bahrain by losing 2 wickets in 3.4 overs.
Earlier, Sita Rana Magar and Kabita Joshi scored 4 and 3 runs respectively for Nepal. Kabita Kunwar and Sabnam Rai took two wickets each while Ashmina Karmacharya took one wickets. Bahrain scored just 14 runs in 7 overs.
Though the game was scheduled to start at 8:15 am, it was postponed for a while due the rain. The game was shortened to 7-7 overs due to the rain.
In the first match of the group stage, Nepal defeated Bhutan by 50 runs. In the second match, Nepal had defeated Kuwait by 25 runs.
In the Championship second-place Hong Kong has added 4 points from 2 games while Kuwait and Bahrain added just 1-1 points. Bhutan has remained at the bottom with no points.
The two finalists- Nepal and Hong Kong- will get chance to play in the Asia Cup Women’s T20 cricket tournament.
