Kathmandu, Nepal, April 19, 2022:Visiting Asian Development Bank (ADB) Vice-President Shixin Chen paid a courtesy call to the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday. ADB Vice-President Chen is in Nepal visit from 13 to 19 April, 2022. 

During the meeting, ADB Vice-president Chen reiterated his commitment on behalf of the ADB to further strengthen its partnership with Nepal. He reaffirmed ADB's commitment to continue to support Nepal, focusing on the government's reforms and investments in infrastructure and human development while promoting gender equality and social inclusion and addressing climate change impacts. 

ADB's operations in Nepal are aligned with the government's Green, Resilient, and Inclusive Development (GRID) Strategy, and we stand ready to support the government's commitment of achieving net-zero climate emission target by 2045, Chen had said during the meeting with Prime Minister Deuba.

During the meeting he also made commitment to continue its assistance the implementation of federalism, completion of Nepal's second international airport, the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Deuba commended role of the ADB in Nepal’s development and sought further assistances in days to come.
