Kathmandu, Nepal January 26, 2020: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has been elected as the speaker of the House of Representatives unopposed.
Newly elected Sapkota, who is also the leaders of the ruling head NCP, was the sole candidate for the post of speaker of the lower house of the Federal Parliament.
In the meeting held under the chairmanship of enior-most member of the parliament Mahantha Thakur, former speaker and NCP leader Subas Nemban proposed while another former speaker Onsari Gharti and NCP chief whip Dev Gurung seconded Sapkota as candidate of the speaker.
