Kathmandu, Nepal, July 18, 2022: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced a 23-member team to play the 2022 SAFF U-20 Championship representing the country. Head coach Meghraj KC announced the name of the Nepali team for the tournament on Monday.
The 2022 SAFF U-20 Championship is going to be held in Bhubaneswar of Odisha state of India from coming July 25 to August 5. A meeting of the ANFA had given authority to head coach KC to announce the name of the final team for the tournament.
As per the schedule, Nepal will compete against the Maldives on July 25 in the first match. In the second match, Nepal will compete with Sri Lanka on July 27. Similarly, Nepal will compete with India on July 31 and play the final match with Bangladesh on August 2.
Ishwar Gurung, Unesh Chaudhary and Ziarat Sheikh have been picked as Goalkeepers. Amar Shrestha, Sonit Dahal, Ayush Shrestha, Ajay Chaudhary, Sumit Shrestha, Srijana Dhani, Roshan Thapa and Abhishek Waiba have been named as defenders.
Similarly, Dipesh Gurung, Ashish Rai, Sandeep Karki, Jangyan Dhami, Baal Gurung, Kritish Ratna Chanju, Sugam Suwal, Manangya Nakarmi and Ayush Ghalan have been named as midfielders while Dipesh Rai, Niranjan Malla and Rohan Khadgi have been picked as forwarders.
