Guwahati : The ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee were today immersed in Brahmaputra river in Guwahati by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and state BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass.
The ashes immersion of Atal Bihari Vajpayee was performed as per Hindu rituals.
Assam CM and state BJP president had immersed the ashes of Vajpayee in mid of the river in presence of ministers of the state government, party leaders.
Earlier, the party workers took out Asthi Kalash Yatra in Guwahati from the state BJP office.
The ashes of former PM and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee were also immersed at Silchar, Dibrugarh and Dhubri today.
