Rolpa, Nepal, April 30, 2019: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) has been detonated targeting Province 5 Chief Minister Shankhar Pokhrel in Rolpa on Tuesday.
According to the reports, the IED was detonated at Triveni Rural Municipality targeting to the Chief Minister Pokhrel. Pokhrel, who is also the leader of the government head Nepal Communist Party (NCP), was on his way to attend his party committee's local assembly at Jugar of Rolpa while the explosive was exploded.
Netra Bikram Chanda ‘Biplav’ led Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has claimed the responsibilities of the explosion. Earlier on Monday the party had also tried to launch similar attack against Pokharel at Libang, the district headquarters of Rolpa.
