Kathmandu, Nepal, August 3, 2021: Expansion of cabinet likely to delay further, thanks to the dilemma in the ruling allies particularly the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and the dissident faction of the CPN UML led by Madhav Kumar Nepal. 

Though the ruling head Nepali Congress (NC) and the CN (Maoist Center) have tentatively agreed upon over division of ministerial portfolios with the motive to give full shape the cabinet soon, the JSP and the Nepal led faction have yet to reach on the conclusion.  

The JSP has failed to pick the names of though who would participate in the cabinet representing to the party while the Nepal led faction of the UML has remained indecisive even to participate in the government. 

Though moist of the lawmakers aligned in the Nepal camp have been willing to participate in the government, some leaders of the camp namely Surendra Pandey, Ghana Shyam Bhusal, Gokarna Bishta and Yogesh Bhattrai, have been insisting not to hurry up to take decision to participate in the Deuba led government. 

Though the NC and the Maoist Center have agreed on a tentative division of the ministerial portfolios, final decision is yet to be made over the names of to be appointed ministers. It is said that the Maoist Center have faced a tough task to pick the names, thanks to the high number of aspirants in the party.   

As per the tentative agreement, the NC will keep eight ministries including the prime minister while the Maoist Centre and JSP will get seven each if the Nepal led faction of the UML does not join the government.

It is said that six ministerial portfolios will be allocated to the Nepal led faction of the UML by reducing two each posts from the NC, JSP and the Maoist Center if it join in the government.  Ministerial portfolios would be decided latter once the final names come from all the ruling allies. 

As about three weeks have already passed after the formation of the incumbent government under the leadership of NC president Deuba, concerns are widespread over the delay to give the full shape the cabinet even raising question marks over the performance of the government.
