Kathmandu, Nepal, September 9, 2022: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the governing body of Nepalese Cricket has suspended the national team captain Sandeep Lamichhane on Thursday after the Kathmandu District Court issued an arrest warrant against him in on the charge of raping a minor.
The Kathmandu district court on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against Lamichhane. It is said that Nepal police is in the process to request to the Interpol to arrest Lamichhane. He is currently in the West Indies to play for Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League.
A 17-year-old girl had on Wednesday filed an FIR against Lamichhane accusing him of rape at a hotel in Kathmandu on August 21.
