Kathmandu, Nepal, May 9, 2020: The government of Nepal has failed to take prompt initiation for the talks with the high ranking Indian officials even though a high ranking official of India officially inaugurated the construction of link road by encroaching the Nepali territory at Lipulekh of Darchula district.

As the proposed link road connects Dharchula of the Indian State of Uttarakhand and the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) of China via the Lipulekh of Darchula district, the government has done nothing than seeking clarification from the Indian embassy in Kathmandu.

Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had announced through his twitter message on Friday that he inaugurated the link road to Mansarovar through video conferencing. The link road is being constricted as per the understanding between India and China.

Following the statement, concerns are mounting in the political and diplomatic front.  However, the government has just sought clarification from the Indian embassy in Kathmandu to make its official position over the issue.

Though Nepal has repeatedly been opposing the controversial agreement reached between India and China, both the sides have not responded the Nepalese concerns.
