Kathmandu, Nepal: A meeting of the Constitutional Council (CC) is scheduled today 4:00 pm to recommend the name of Chief Justice (CJ) for the Supreme Court (SC) and the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
The CC has to recommend another name for the post of Chief Justice after the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) rejected the Chief Justice Deepak Raj Joshee’s name in the post.
Judicial Council (JC) has already recommended senior Justices duo Om Prakash Mishra and Cholendra Shumsher Rana to the Constitutional Council.
Likewise, the Constitutional Council is also going to recommend CIAA chief. The post of CIAA chief is remained vacant since three months.
Incumbent Acting Chief Commissioner Nabin Kumar Ghimire, former Chief Secretary and Nepalese ambassador to China Lailamani Paudel, former chief secretary Rajendra Kishor Chhetri and senior advocate Yubaraj Sangraula are in the fray for the post.
