Kathmandu, Nepal, February 9, 2021:  Southern neighbor China has reiterated its concerns over the recent political development of Nepal, particularly the fragile political situations developed after dissolution of the parliament.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has not only expressed concerns over the recent political development of Nepal but urged the political parties to shelve differences and maintain unity and stability in Nepal for its own development and prosperity.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed such a concern while holding telephonic conversation with his Nepali counterpart Pradeep Gyawali. Issuing a press on Monday, Chinese foreign Ministry has revealed about the discussions held with Gyawali.

During the conversation we both the foreign ministers exchanged views on Nepal’s domestic political situation including extending Covid-19 vaccine cooperation, states the press statement issued by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

However, neither Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) nor the foreign minister Gyawali had revealed about the discussion held between foreign ministers of Nepal and China over the recent political situation in Nepal.

Following the discussion, the MoFA had on Friday issued a statement just stating that Minister Gyawali and his Chinese counterpart Wang held a telephonic conversation and China agreed to provide 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Nepal as a grant sans reveling about the discussions about the political issues in Nepal.

However, Chinese Foreign Ministry has revealed about the wider ranges of discussions including the political development in Nepal though it is open secret that the neighboring countries including China used to express concerns and attempt to intervene in the internal affair of Nepal.

Following the dissolution of the parliament, southern neighbor China has repeatedly been expressing concerns about the political situations in Nepal.

Earlier China had even sent a four-member team led by Guo Yezhou, vice-minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, on December 27 on the name of assessing Nepal situation.

During the stay in Nepal the Chinese delegation had met several Nepalese leaders including President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, chairman of the splinter faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal and others to express concerns over the recent development in the country.
