Kathmandu, Nepal, May 26, 2021: northern neighbor, China has announced 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines as grant for Nepal to fight against the recent surge of infections across the country.
‘President Xi Jinping has announced to provide a grant of 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to his Nepali counterpart, Bidya Devi Bhandari through a phone conversation,’ Hao Yanqi, Chinese ambassador to Nepal has stated through her twitter account on Wednesday.
President Bhandari and her Chinese counterpart held a telephonic conversation about one hour earlier today on ranges of issues including the issues related to the recent surge of coronavirus infections.
Earlier, the Chinese government had provided 800,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and other necessary heath materials as a grant assistant to Nepal.
Considering to the recent surge of coronavirus infections cases in Nepal, many countries and donor agencies have shown their concerns to help Nepal to fight against the virus. Likewise, the government has also intensified its efforts to receive assistance from different countries.
