Kathmandu, Nepal: The commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Raj Narayan Pathak has resigned from his post on Friday.
Pathak handed over his resignation to President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Shital Niwas on Friday evening.
Commissioner Patha has been allegedly of receiving a bribe from the management committee official of an engineering college in Bhaktapur in return for promising to resolve an ownership row.
Pathak, who was a retired deputy attorney general, was picked as commissioner of the CIAA in 2015. He was recommended as CIAA commissioner by Madhes-based parties as part of sharing of the spoils among major political parties.
