Kathmandu, Nepal, March 26, 2019: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against its own immediate past commissioner, Raj Narayan Pathak, allegations of his involvement in a corruption scandal involving Rs 7.8 million on settlement of dispute relating to an engineering college at Bhaktapur.
In the first time in Nepal’s history, the CIAA filed the corruption case on Tuesday against its own former commissioner Pathak at the Special Court alleging him of involving in corruption abusing of authority as commissioner of the CIAA, the only constitutional body of the country to check corruption.
Likewise, the CIAA has also filed a corruption case against Lambodar Neupane, college management committee chairperson of Bhaktapur-based Nepal Engineering College in the same case.
