Kathmandu, Nepal: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sher Bahadur Tamang has resigned from his post following his controversial remark regarding the Nepali MBBS students in Bangladesh on Tuesday.
Minister Tamang handed over his resignation letter to the Prime Minister KP Shama Oli after announcing his resignation amid a press conference at Singhdurbar.
His statement made while interacting with SEE students of Practical International Academy on Friday was that female students who go to pursue MBBS in Bangladesh have to compromise at some point to earn their degrees was widely condemned from different sectors.
Following the widespread criticism the Prime Minister KP Shama Oli, who is also the chairperson of the government head Nepal Communist Party (NCP), had instructed him to resign from the post. Tamang used to consider as loyal to Oli.
