Kathmandu, Nepal, August 27, 2020: Nepal’s coronavirs (COVID-19) infection tally reached to 35,529 after 1,111 new cases recorded on Thursday. This is the single day record high in terms of coronavirus infection in the country.
Among the new recorded infection cases, 377 have been reported from within Kathmandu Valley alone. This is also the single day record high in Kathmandu valley.
According to Jageshowr Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, among the 1,111 newly identified infection cases, 334 are females while 777 are males.
The new infection cases were confirmed after testing of 12,629 specimens through PCR method in the last 24 hours, states spokesperson Gautam during the press briefing. According to him, total of 647,881 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date on Thursday.
Likewise, 569 patients infected earlier with the recoveries have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the new addition, total numbers of infection cases have reached 20,073 in Nepal.
Similarly, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus reached to 183 after eight more coronavirus fatalities have been reported in the past 24 hours.
