Kathmandu, Nepal, January 3, 2021: Coronavirus infection tally of the country has advanced to 262,784 after 522 new cases reported in the past 24 hours from across the country.

Of the total newly infected cases, 184 are females while 338 are males. According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 232 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley alone. 

The capital city, Kathmandu, has been hosting the highest number of active cases of coronavirus since few months.

Likewise, 578 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition,   recovery tally of the country has advanced to 255,666, which is about 97 percent.

Meanwhile, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus has advanced to 1,893 after eight more fatalities related to the coronavirus recorded in the past 24 hours. 

There are currently 5,225 active cases across the country. Of them only 342 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities across the country.
