Kathmandu, Nepal, October 23, 2020: Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection tally of the country has advanced to 255,979 after 743 new cases recorded on Wednesday.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), of the total infection cases, 279 are females while 464 are males.
Likewise, out of total infected cases recorded in the past 24 hours across the country, 318 new cases were surfaced in Kathmandu Valley alone.
Likewise, 952 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, have been discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. With the addition, recovery tally of the country has advanced to 246,661.
Meanwhile, death toll due to the infection of coronavirus advanced to 1,803 after five fatalities related to the virus recorded in the past 24 hours.
With the addition, there are currently 7,515 active cases throughout the country. Of them only 409 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities.
The new cases were recorded while conducting 6,559 PCR tests throughout the country in the past 24 hours. As of now, 1,890,740 PCR tests have been carried out in the country till date.
