Kathmandu, Nepal: CPN Maoist Centre Vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha, who is now in India as of a representative of the Prime Minster Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has been meeting various Indian leaders to convey the message of the Nepal government.
Though Shrestha’s current trip to New Delhi was claimed to have attend in a Maoist party’s meeting at New Delhi, he has been holding discussions with various Indian leaders including the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the sideline of the meeting.
As India and the agitating Madhes based parties have been exerting pressure to the Nepal government to amend the constitution first, Shrestha was sent to India to convey a message that Nepal government would announce the date of local level elections before endorsing the constitution amendment bill.
Shrestha had conveyed such a message to the Indian government through Ram Madhav, general secretary of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.
Shrestha had met Madhav on Tuesday. Madhav is considered to have close to Indian Prime Minister Narenda Modi and deal about the external affairs of the party.
