Kathmandu, Nepal, March 21, 2022: The Morang District Administration Office (DAO) has issued an indefinite curfew order in and around Kherwa of Letang area of the district from 7:00 am on Monday with the motive to control the untoward incidents.  

As violent mob had taken the life of a police constable Urmila Shrestha on Sunday while she was deployed at Shiksha Bikas Secondary School in Kheruwa on Sunday to arrest a teacher accused of sexually harassing a girl student, the DAO has issued indefinite curfew order until further notice.

Police have on Monday arrested eight people in connection to the case for the investigation. As constable Shrestha had denied to handover the arrested teacher to the violent mob, she was stabbed to death.  She was stab injuries to her neck with a sharp weapon.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has given instructions to the authorities concerned to investigate the murder of a police constable Shrestha in Letang Municipality of Morang and bring the culprits to justice.
