Kathmandu, Nepal, July 13, 2021: Newly appointed Prime Minister Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been denying taking oath of office and secrecy protesting to the appointment decision made sans mentioning the constitutional provision.

Though the oath taking ceremony was scheduled for 6:00 pm on Tuesday,  Deuba, who is also the Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader, has been denying to take oath of office.

Though almost all the leaders have present at the office of the president, no oath taking ceremony is commenced yet, thanks to the adamant stand of Deuba. He has been stating that he would not present to take oath of office and secrecy until and unless the office of the president mentioned the constitutional provision regarding his appointment as Prime Minister.

The Presdient Bidya Devi Bhandari had on Tuesday afternoon appointed Deuba as the Prime Minister sans disclosing the article of the constitution under which he was appointed as the prime minister.

However, the Supreme Court had on Monday passed a verdict stating that Deuba must be appointed the Prime Minister in line with Article 76 (5) of the Constitution.
