Kathmandu, Nepal March 17, 2020: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the government to work on a war-footing to ensure safety and security of the Nepalese national in home and abroad from the consequences of spreading coronavirus. 

President of the main opposition party NC, who is also the leader of the main opposition party and forth time prime minister of the country, made the appeal on Monday in view of the growing spread of the coronavirus outbreak in different parts of the world. 

Concerning over the possible consequence in Nepal, he has also urged the government for adequate supply of skilled human resources and necessary equipment to tackle the possible threat of coronavirus outbreak in the country.

He also urged the government to develop adequate number of isolation wards, alternative quarantine facilities and Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in view of the potential threat of the coronavirus. He has also drawn the attention of the government to disseminate correct information to counter numerous rumors rife in the market.

NC president Deuba has also expressed concerns over the lacking of effective and reliable restriction in the border points to stop potential carriers of coronavirus. The government has to make effective arrangement immediately to prevent people suspected of being infected with coronavirus from entering Nepal, states the appeal. 

Deuba has also expressed concerns over the growing black marketing of daily essentials in the market. There is necessary of active role of concerned government agencies to help protect the interests of the consumers, states the appeal.  Concerning over the slowdown in economy, NC president Deuba has also demanded to reduce bank interest rate and extend the loan payment period.
