Kathmandu, Nepal, July 19, 2022: Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattrai is going to form a new party after Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal expelled him even from the general membership of the party. Following the months long factional feud, the Upendra Yadav led faction of the party had expelled 10 central committee members including Bhattrai.
Bhattrai has no option rather than forming a new party as he has no strength to claim the authenticity in the party. However, it is uncertain that how long his party would remain, how it will be formed and what would be its guiding principle.
It will be his fifth party if new party was formed. The political journey begun from the CPN (Masal) did not remain long after had joined in CPN (Unity Centre), which had later turned into the CPN (Maoist). Severing ties with the party, he had formed Naya Shakti before joining in the JSP.
