Kathmandu, Nepal: Senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC has warned for another hunger strike demanding reform in the medical education sector. The Medical Education stalwart Dr. KC has extended three weeks deadline to meet his demands.
Organizing a press conference at the Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) premises on Monday he said that 16th hunger strike would be staged if his demands are not implemented by the government within a three-week.
As the government does not seem serious to implement the past agreements to reform the medical education, I will stage another hanger strike from December 18 if all the demands are not fulfilled within the given timeframe, he said.
Following the agreement with the government he had ended his15th hunger strike launched demanding reform in the medical education sector. However, the government has failed to implement its own commitment made while singing in the agreement with agitating Dr. KC.
In additions of the previous demands, Dr. KC has also added a new demand that the main culprit of the Nirmala Panta’s rape and murder case has to be brought into justice.
