Kathmandu, Nepal, July 31, 2022: A strong earthquake measuring 6 Magnitude in rector scale with the epicentre at Mattim Birta in Khotang district rattled various parts of the country, particularly the eastern part of Nepal on Sunday morning. 

The jolt of the earthquake was felt not only the sterna part of Nepal but the areas of neighboring India. The jolt was felt in Kathmandu valley as well. The earthquake had occurred at 08:13 am on Sunday.

According to the Seismological Centre, the depth of the earthquake was 10km and ran across 65km WNW of Dharan to 26km W of Bhojpur district. 

Even though the no death is reported yet due to the earthquake, some houses and cowsheds have been damaged in the several districts of the eastern Nepal including in Khotang and Bhojpur districts.
