Kathmandu, Nepal, December 19, 2022: The Election Commission (EC) has organized a reception on Monday on the successful completion of the election to the Members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assemblies.
The result of the November 20 elections was already handed over to the President Bidya Devi Bhandari. Following the submission of the election results, the president has also called on the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) to stake the claim of Prime Ministers on the backing of majority members of two or more than two parties.
During the reception organized in the premises of the EC at Kantipath in the capital, President Bhandari, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Acting Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina and other dignitaries attended.
Former prime ministers, former chairman of the Council of Ministers, the chiefs of various political parties, the former Vice President, ministers, newly-elected lawmakers, the heads of constitutional bodies, vice chancellors of various universities, chancellors of different academies, high-level government officials, chiefs of security bodies, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions in Nepal, industrialists, businessmen, artists, journalists and distinguished persons from various walks of life were also present on the on the occasion.
