Kathmandu, Nepal, November15, 2022:The Election Commission (EC) has informed the diplomatic missions in Nepal about the upcoming federal and provincial level elections to elect the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly member elections.


The EC invited the heads and representatives of the diplomatic missions in Nepal to inform about the November 20 elections on Monday. During the meeting, the diplomats raised their concerns about the security arrangements to hold the elections in a fair and fearless manner.  

Responding to the concerns of the diplomat, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said that the election commission is committed to conduct the scheduled HoR and provincial assembly elections in a free, fair and transparent manner.

Informing about the necessary preparations made by the EC to hold the elections, CEC Thapaliya also sought support and cooperation from the international community to make success the scheduled elections.

During the function, it was informed that different 47 organizations including three international organizations have been permitted to monitor the elections. Likewise, 8,000 observers have been mobilized as observer for the elections.
