Kathmandu, Nepal: The Election Commission (EC) has on Friday made public the number of seats secured by political parties under the Proportional Representation system in the Provincial Assembly.
According to the EC, the CPN-UML has secured the highest number of seats, 75, in the Provincial Assembly, closely followed by the Nepali Congress, which has secured 72 seats.
Though the UML had made the tremendous victory in the first-past –the- post- election category, the number votes of the UML and the Nepali congress looks like same.
As per the EC the CPN Maoist Centre has received 35 seats. With the final result, the Maoist Center has limited in third position even though the Maoist had led the Nepali Congress in the first-past –the- post- election category.
As per the Election Commission, the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal got 13 seats while the Rashtriya Janata Party secured 12 seat.
Likewise, the newly formed Bibeksheel Sajha Party has secured three representative members at the Provincial Assembly. Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has also got three representative members at the Provincial Assembly. The Janamorcha has got two and Naya Shakti has one seat in the Federal Assembly.
