Kathmandu, Nepal, October 11, 2022: The Election Commission (EC) is going to publish the name list of candidates for the first-past-the-post (FPTP) seats of the federal and provincial assembly on Tuesday.  According to the EC, the candidacy filed on Sunday can be withdrawn on October 12.  

Final list of the candidates will be published on October 26 after carrying out an investigation on the claim and protest. The claim and protest against candidates enlisted in the published list is fixed for October 15.

Meanwhile, the EC has made a mandatory provision that political parties and candidates have to submit their electoral expenses details of online advertisement as well. Issuing the ‘Policy on Use of Social Sites on Election Management,’ the EC has made appeal to all the candidates have to submit their expenses details of online advertisement. 

This is the first time that the EC has made the provision that the political parties and candidates have to submit their details of expenditures made for the online advertisement in social networking sites.  

The EC has made such an appeal after social networking sites seem to have filled with the polls related advertisements after the completion of the candidacy nomination of the candidates for the federal and provincial assembly polls on Sunday.
