Kathmandu, Nepal, May 05, 2022; The Election Commission (EC) has asked the government to close all the international borders crossings before 48 hours of the local level election date that is slated for coming May 3. 

Following the meeting of the EC Election Commission office-bearers’ meeting on Thursday, the EC urged the government to close the international border points from the midnight of May 10 to end of the election period. 

Likewise, the EC has also urged to the Ministry of Home Affairs to strictly prohibit the sale, distribution and consumption of alcohol from the midnight of May 10 until voting concludes.
