Kathmandu, Nepal: Final rites of former Deputy Prime Minister and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari have been performed with state honours at Pashupati Aryaghat on Sunday.
Late Adhikari, who is also the four-time finance minister, died at 82 on Friday evening due to ailment elated to the lungs and heart.
The three daughters of Adhikari- Lima and Lija lit the funeral pyre as per the Hindu tradition and culture. Late Adhikari’s wife Sabita Adhikari also presents at to pay their last tributes at Pashupati Aryaghat.
Dozens of leaders and cadres of the NCP including its general secretary Bishnu Poudel, Nepali Congress leaders Ram Sharan Mahat and Minendra Rijal and many others reached the Pashupati Aryagaht to pay their last tributes.
Late Adhikari was born youngest son of Ram Chandra and Purna Kumari on Baishak 22, 1993 BS.
