Kathmandu, Nepal: Funeral rites for Senior Neurosurgeon Dr. Upendra Devkota have been performed at Pashupati Aryaghat through electric crematorium on Tuesday.
Devkota’s funeral pyre was lit by his wife Dr. Madhu Devkota and his daughters trios Medha, Basudha and Manjari. Hundreds of thousands relatives and well-wishers were present at the funeral rites.
Before taking at Pashupati Aryaghat for funeral rites, Devkota’s body was kept on the premises of Neuro Hospital, Bansbari for condolence. Thousands of well-wishers had paid their last tributes to Devkota.
Devkota, 63, had breathed his last at 5:35 pm on Monday while undergoing treatment for bile duct cancer at Babsbari-based Neuro hospital.
