Kathmandu, Nepal, August 4, 2022: The government has declared the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assemblies in a single phase on November 20.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Singh Durbar on Thursday decided to this effect. The Election Commission of Nepal had already recommended the government to hold the elections on November 18.
The government has made the decision at the time when there was a widespread speculation that the government would differ the election date by February.
A meeting the ruling allies on Wednesday had recommended the government to announce the date for the elections as soon as possible.
