Kathmandu, Nepal, June 22, 2021:The government has appointed journalist Siddha Raj Rai as the General Manager (GM) of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), the national news agency of Nepal.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday at the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Baluwatar decided to this effect. Rai is a journalist affiliated to the Press Chautari Nepal, press wing of the ruling CPN UML.
Rai, originally hailed from Dhankuta district, was also a former central member of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), the representative umbrella organization of Nepalese journalists. He had been serving journalism by affiliating in different media since a long period.
