Kathmandu, Nepal, November 1, 2021: Though search and rescue operation is underway of the three missing French climbers in the Himalayas after an avalanche, hopes fade to find them alive.  

Three French nationals identified as Thomas Arfi, Gabriel Miloche and Louis Pachoud, have been missing since October 26 while they were trying to scale the 6,783-metre Mt Khangtega in the Khumbu region.

Eight members expedition team including the missing three French national had got permission from the Department of Tourism to scale the Mountain on October 23.  The Holiday Himalaya Trek and Expedition had facilitated the group to obtain the climbing permits. 

Though the rescuers have traced three bags and equipment at the bottom of the cliff face, it is not clear yet that whether the bags and equipments traced in the cliff belong to the missing French nationals or not. 

It is guessed that they would hit by the avalanche while they were returning back abandoning their summit attempt. Bad weather has been posing challenge to launch the search operations by landing in the spot.

We studied the location where they were said to be last spotted and looked around the area Mingma Gyalje Sherpa, a member of the search and rescue team mobilized by the Nepal National Mountain Guides Association said on Monday adding they would resume search operation only if the weather condition improved on Tuesday.
