Kathmandu, Nepal, July 2022: The Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2022 has been passed by the House of Representatives (HoR). The meeting of the HoR held on Wednesday passed the bill. 

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand presented Nepal’s first Citizenship Amendment Bill 2022 before seeking pass from the parliament. 
 
‘Since the Article 10 of the constitution guarantees that no Nepali citizen will be deprived of the right to acquire citizenship, the bill is necessary,’ Khad said while labeling the Bill at the parliament to amend the Nepal Citizenship Act 2006.
