Kathmandu, Nepal, February 13, 2022: A impeachment motion has been registered at the parliament Secretariat against Supreme Court Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana on Sunday.
Lawmakers from ruling allies- Nepali Congress, CPN Maoist Center and the United socialist registered the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Rana. 98 lawmakers from the parties have signed in the impeachment motion.
With the registration of impeachment motion, Chief Justice Rana has automatically suspended from the post. Senior Supreme Court Justice Deepakkumar Karki has become active Chief Justice.
