Kathmandu, Nepal, September 14, 2022: Indian actress Shabana Azmi is arriving in Kathmandu to take part in the 2nd Nepal International Theater Festival- 2079 (Nitfest 2022). The festival is going to begin from coming November 25, 2022.
Mandala Theater is going to organize the festival with the slogan of 'Theatre for Social Transformation: A Celebration of Diversity.' According to Srijan Subba, director of organizing agency, Mandala Theater, plays from Nepal, India, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Russia, Italy, Spain, UK, Belarus, Egypt, USA, Uruguay and Argentina are included in the festival.
Indian actress Shabana is scheduled to a give a 'master class' to the Nepali theater artists. Likewise, she is also scheduled to reward one of the concepts applied for the ‘Innovative Idea Award.’
Shabana Azmi is one of the renowned Indian actress, who has received five National Filmfare Awards for Best Actress and various international honors. She was also honored by the Government of India with 'Padya Shri' in 1998 and 'Padya Bhushan' in 2012 for her outstanding performance.
