Kathmandu, Nepal, August 27, 2019: Southern neighbor India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit to Nepal at the third week of September. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has already invited his Indian counterpart Modi to become chief guest on the Constitution Day that falls on September 20.

Nepalese officials have intensified their efforts to welcome Indian Prime Minister Modi on the occasion of the constitution.

As India had not welcomed the newly promulgated constitution of Nepal, it will be meaningful if Indian Prime Minister Modi accepts to become the chief guest of the function organized on the occasion of the Constitution Day.

It is ironic that then foreign secretary Jaishankar had visited Nepal as of the envoy of Modi days before promulgation of the Constitution in September 2015 to persuade Nepali leaders to postpone promulgation date to include the demands of agitating Madhes-based parties.

As Nepalese leaders ignored his demand, miffed India had imposed blockade on Nepal immediately after promulgation of the Constitution.
