Kathmandu, Nepal, April 30, 2020: Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has been conferred from the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun.
The government of Japan has made the announcement in Tokyo on Wednesday, the Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu has stated.
According to the embassy, Poudel was conferred with the honor for his contribution to the activation of contacts between parliamentarians of the two countries and established the Japan Nepal Friendship Parliamentarian League in 1999 when he was the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal.
