Kathmandu, Nepal: Various dignitaries including Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to President Bidya Devi Bhandari paid their last tributes to Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari and six other persons, who had lost their lives in the Helicopter crash in Taplejung on Wednesday.
Various figures from leaders from different political parties, cabinet ministers, high-ranking government officials, tourism entrepreneurs, family members, relatives and thousands others from different walks of life were assembled at Tudikhel for paying last respects to victims of the fatal crash.
Prime Minister Oli placed the national flag on the body of Minister Adhikari. Likewise, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal also draped Adhikari’s body with the party flag.
The bodies of the victims were kept at the open theatre in Tundhikhel from 8:00 am to 11:00 am for homage. Following the laying last tributes program, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to the family members and relatives f the victims.
In the fatal crash, Minister Adhikari and six others- tourism entrepreneur Ang Tshering Sherpa, Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Birendra Shrestha, CAAN Director Dhruba Das Bhochhibhaya, Under-Secretary at the Prime Minister’s office Yubaraj Dahal, pilot of the helicopter Captain Prabhakar KC, and security personnel Arjun Ghimire had lost their lives.
