Kathmanndu, Nepal, August 4, 2020: Nepalese Embassy in Malaysia has stated that person who is seen mercilessly beating a Nepali security guard in Malaysia in a viral video is a fellow Nepali national.
Issuing a statement on Monday, the Embassy has stated that the man who had thrashed the Nepali security guard has been identified as Ram Gopal Murau from Kapilvastu district while the man who was beaten mercilessly has been identified as Islam Hussain from Nawalaparasi district.
Following the video become viral, the Embassy had lodged a complaint demanding action against the assailant. It is said that Murau presented himself before Wangsa Maju police station on Monday and both have come to contact of the Embassy.
It is identified that both the Nepali nationals have been illegally staying there in Malaysia for a long time. Murau had been working as a supervisor while Hussain is working as a security guard at a same company. It is said that the incident had taken place at 10 am on July 7, 2020.
The about one minute long video, Murau is seen using a baton to beat the guard Hussain but does not retaliate.
