Kathmandu, Nepal, September 7, 2022: Kathmandu Metropolitan Mayor Balen Shah has sent a reply to the Election Commission (EC) on Monday stating that he does not have any affiliation with the Hamro Nepali party headed by Engineer Anantaraj Ghimire.
Responding to a letter sent earlier by the EC stating as “do you have any affiliation to the Hamro Nepali party headed by Engineer Ghimire, or not?” Shah sent the letter on Monday even making clear that action will be taken if his name is used for campaigning by the said party.
EC had asked Shah to clarify about the campaigning launched by the candidates of Hamro Nepali Party in various constituencies in Kathmandu and social media stating as “Jai Lauro” that they support Mayor Shah. According to the EC, the party is constantly asking for the votes of its party and candidates using your pictures and names.
