Kathmandu, Nepal, May 12, 2021:  After months long warning, the possible threat of vertical split of the ruling CPN UML has been turned aside for a period, thanks to an understanding between the party chairman KP Sharma Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal on Thursday.

A three-hour long meeting between the two leaders have agreed to bury the internal differences by forming a task force. However, details about the so-called understanding made between the leaders duo is not revealed yet officially.

As lawmakers close to the senior leader Nepal were preparing to resign en masse, to make easy to form a coalition government under the leadership of Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman Oli, who is also the Prime Minister, agreed to address the demands raised by the Nepal-led dissident faction.

It is said that Oli has agreed to resurrect the party as it was on May 16, 2018 and withdraw all the decisions taken on March 12 of this year. The Nepal led faction has been presenting the condition as of a bottom line.
